How Sweet Bonanza works
Sweet Bonanza was released by Pragmatic Play in 2019 and is still one of the most recognisable sweets-themed slots around. The bright candy look hides a fairly aggressive maths model, so it helps to understand the mechanics before you spin.
Pay anywhere on a 6x5 grid
There are no paylines here. The slot uses a scatter-pays system, so wins come from enough matching symbols landing anywhere on the grid, not from a left-to-right line. Position does not matter, only the count of identical symbols.
Tumbling reels
After a win, the winning symbols disappear and new ones drop into the gaps. If the new symbols form another winning group, that pays too, and the process repeats until no more wins appear. A single paid spin can therefore turn into a short chain of results.
The base game feels busy even when individual wins are small. The bigger swings are tied to the bonus round and its multipliers.
Features and bonus rounds
The game lists four core features, and they work together rather than separately:
- Pay anywhere: matching symbols pay wherever they land.
- Tumbling reels: winning symbols vanish and are replaced, allowing chain wins.
- Free spins: triggered by scatter symbols, this is the main bonus round.
- Multiplier bombs: special symbols that boost wins.
Free spins
Landing enough scatter symbols starts the free spins round. Tumbling carries on during the bonus, so one spin can still build into several consecutive wins. Check the in-game paytable for the exact scatter count and number of spins awarded, as it is shown there.
Multiplier bombs
Multiplier bombs are what give the slot its high ceiling. When they land during a tumbling sequence, they apply their multiplier values to the wins on screen. A bomb on a spin with no win does little, so the combination of a decent cluster plus bombs is where the large results come from.
RTP, volatility and max win
The key numbers for this slot are below. They come from the game data, and the RTP is a long-run theoretical figure over a huge number of spins, not a promise for one session.
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Provider | Pragmatic Play |
| Release year | 2019 |
| Layout | 6x5, scatter pays |
| RTP | 96.48% |
| Volatility | High |
| Max win | 21,100x stake |
High volatility means wins can be spread out, with quiet stretches broken up by occasional bigger hits. Your balance can drop quickly and recover just as quickly, or not at all. The 21,100x maximum is the theoretical ceiling and is very rare, so treat it as a headline figure rather than a target.
Playing Sweet Bonanza at Tucan
Finding the slot
Pragmatic Play is one of the studios in the lobby, and this title is listed among its slots. Search by name, or browse the wider slot and live game lobby if you want to compare it with other titles.
Bonus funds and slots
If you claim the welcome package, the offer has its own stake cap and wagering rules that apply while you play. Read the bonus terms before spinning with bonus money, especially because a high-volatility slot can burn through a balance fast.
On your phone
The slot is built for portrait and landscape play, and the details of mobile access are covered on the mobile app and mobile site page. Sessions on a small screen are easy to lose track of, so keep an eye on the clock.
The casino's restricted-country list includes the United Kingdom. Before you register or deposit, read the licence and safety page and confirm that the site accepts players from where you live.
Tips for the first session
Treat the first session as a way to learn the slot, not to chase the top prize. A few habits make that easier.
- Set a deposit limit and a time limit before you start, and stick to both.
- Pick a stake small enough to survive a long dry spell, since volatility is high.
- Open the paytable and read how scatters and bombs behave before you place real money.
- Do not raise your stake to recover losses. Tumbling sequences can look close to a big win without paying one.
- Stop when the budget is gone. Tools and support are available through BeGambleAware and GamCare if gambling stops being fun.
You must be 18 or over to play. Slots are entertainment with a built-in house edge, not a way to make money.
FAQ
Is Sweet Bonanza available at Tucan?
Yes, the slot is part of the casino's Pragmatic Play lineup. Availability depends on where you live, though. The United Kingdom appears on the site's restricted-country list, so confirm your eligibility on the licence and safety page before you sign up or deposit.
What is the RTP of Sweet Bonanza?
The listed RTP is 96.48%. That is a theoretical long-run average across a very large number of spins, so your own session can finish well above or below it. Volatility is high, which makes short-term results swing widely.
What is the maximum win in Sweet Bonanza?
The maximum win is 21,100x your stake. Reaching it is extremely rare and usually needs the free spins round, tumbling wins and strong multiplier bombs lining up together. Plan your budget around ordinary results, not the ceiling.
Can I use bonus money on this slot?
Bonus money can usually be used on slots, but each offer has its own stake cap and wagering rules. Read the current terms on the bonus page before you spin, because breaking a rule such as the maximum bet can put winnings at risk.
